Containers that run on gasoline

Roaming around Boone, North Carolina I found the Wautauga river farmer’s market. It was standing room only and some seats were already reserved for plants. Nice combinations of trailing, bushing, and growing upright in most. The assortment was good and met sun and shade request.

As you can see, there are oil cans, heaters, plate baskets and more out of the ordinary appearing. You must be a good collector of junk to have this assortment of planters. They were selling very well.

This gas powered container is fun an functional. Keeps the van cool and helps advertise the family run landscaping business.

Chicken wire holds it all in place and I’ve been told that the plants will grow fast and start filling in down the van. I think it will be pretty when it overflows.

Looks a bit top heavy but they say it drives well enough to get the advertisement down the road and to the next event.

The van hauls this trailer down the road. The trailer has a full rock water feature. The whole convoy looks pretty clever when you see it in action. It certainly draws a good crowd.

So head out to see them next weekend for the Wautauga farmer’s market in Boone, NC.

HI, I’m planning on creating my own rooftop garden on my campervan. I’ve done some research and this seems to be the only one as far as I can tell. So I was wondering if it’d be possible to get any information as to how this was done. Did the owners explain the process? How much it weighs? etc? Do you have any contact info about the owners? I’d be eternally grateful to get some information on this amazing design.

Sorry I’m late in answering. I’ve been very sick. I had shingles to the brain which came on in 2012 and lasted till now. So anyway. This was at the farmer’s market in Boone, NC. I’m sure he is known at this market. I hope this info helps.
