Fran Sorin is a well known gardening expert and communicator. Her multi-media exposure as an author, broadcaster, journalist, and speaker, affords her the opportunity to share her belief that gardening is a conduit for living a healthier, more creative, and joyful life.
Although Fran has had her hands in the dirt since childhood, it was when she was a young mother that she began to garden seriously and spent the next decade developing her skills and artistry. Once Fran was ready to share her knowledge and passion about gardening, she did so with gusto and a single minded commitment. Her authentic and infectious personality helps individuals change from ‘wanna be’ or timid gardeners into ‘hands on’ gardeners by showing them that gardening is playful, creative and has the power to transform lives.
Fran’s book, Digging Deep: Unearthing Your Creative Roots Through Gardening, laid the groundwork for Fran to continue to show her readers how gardening can unleash their own creative spirits. It is available in paperback, on Kindle, and has been published in Germany.
Fran has been the CBS Radio News Garden Contributor for several years. Her weekly features can be heard on CBS Radio stations throughout the country.
She is the Co-Creator and Producer of Gardening Gone Wild, a highly respected and trafficked blog of garden authors, photographers and broadcasters who share their passion, adventures and knowledge of gardening. Regular Contributors are from the heights of horticulture and hail not only from the U.S. but also England, Ireland, Scotland and Sweden.
Fran has recently committed to a joint venture with Garden Weasel, the well known and innovative garden tool company, to serve as their media spokesperson for their line of products. This partnership affords Fran the opportunity to promote a line of quality garden tools and at the same time to turn individuals onto gardening. Fran is contributing to their newly developed blog, Groundbreaking Tips, twice a week.
Having also been a Weekend Today Show Regular Contributor and with appearances on Regis and Kelly, CNN, HGTV, DIY, Comcast, NBC10 (in Philadelphia), hosting a call in gardening talk radio show on CBS, being a Garden Contributor for USA Weekend and Radius Magazine and having been instrumental in developing iVillage’s Garden Channel as well as being their gardening expert, Fran’s authentic and passionate personality, coupled with her knowledge and ability to distill information in a clear and ‘down to earth’ manner, has had an impact on millions of people.
