11 American Goldfinches on one feeder

We had a horrible storm last night and the finches were not happy. They scurried here and there to escape the furry. Once the rains cleared and it was safe to return to the feeder, they came in droves. I can only imagine how much energy they used stressing over the gale force winds and torrential downpours. Must have made them very hungry.

11 American Goldfinches is the most I’ve seen at the feeder–quite comical.

Wow, you have lots of goldfinches! I love watching them at the feeders. In my yard they have recently turned their attention to to the sunflowers I have planted.

  4. I was amazed too Kathleen. They were tired and hungry from fighting the storm.
