Beautiful dog, but then I love dogs and cats and had 8 cats once. But I get very upset when they go and still have a picture of my last dog by the bed and say hello to him every morning. But they give such real joy and unconditional love to us.

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too.
    ~Samuel Butler, Notebooks, 1912
I know all about losing a dog too. Pictures of my doggie are all over the place. She found a way to be in most of the pictures we took of the boys. My boys were nuts about her. I want another one but we need to get a fence first.

8 cats is a lot of tails to look out for. 8 cats is 72 lives in all. I like the quote from Samuel Butler–true that our dogs are accepting unconditionally.

My dog smelled badly on occasion. I have a sensitive nose and it drove me nuts. I was on the phone telling someone how bad she smelled. I had said it quite a few times. She got up and came over to me while I was talking about her. She sat down and started cleaning herself. You can’t tell me that dogs don’t understand us. I have lots of proof how smart she was.

Don’t you just wish they could stay little for a while longer? I miss have puppies and kittens around. My heart literally broke when I left Cous cous up country. But it was for the better, she has grown into a lovely young lady, one who hardly ever comes indoors. And here she would have had to stay indoors forever.

Some cats just love being outdoors, and she is one of them. I know all the reasoning behind indoor vs. outdoor, but she has a entire farm to run around on up there.

Awwww–I’m sorry. I’m thinking about getting an outdoor kitty. It would be fat in no time cause we have lots of varmits.

Yep that’s what babies do, grow up fast! 🙂
My dil didn’t want her to grow either. Allie still thinks she is a lap dog.

Oh, she’s a lovely dog! I like her colouring and she doesn’t look like she’d shed much…my kind of pooch! Ah yes, puppies and kids and grandkids, too — they all grow up, and way too quickly. 🙂
She sheds a lot but that’s ok cause Grandma loves her and she can do no wrong–isn’t that right?
